CCA Names Brad Regens, Senior Director, State Customer Relations in Arizona
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – November 27, 2007 – Corrections Corporation of America has announced the hiring of Bradley T. Regens as Senior Director, State Customer Relations. Regens will work out of CCA’s Phoenix, Arizona satellite office to manage business relationships with established and prospective state partners in the southwestern United States, with a primary emphasis on Arizona and California.
Regens comes to CCA from the Arizona House of Representatives, where he served the past two years as the Director of Fiscal Policy. Previously, he spent nine years serving in a number of key roles, including Assistant Director, with the Arizona Joint Legislative Budget Committee, where he was responsible for analysis and forecasts of state government expenditures.
Regens earned his Master of Public Policy degree from Duke University, and his undergraduate degree was gained at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
"Brad Regens comes to CCA with a depth of knowledge not just in Arizona government budgeting and analysis but also in corrections, having analyzed budgetary matters for the Arizona Department of Corrections," said Tony Grande, senior vice president of CCA. "Brad is a seasoned public policy expert, and his understanding of government operations will help CCA better meet our government customer needs in Arizona."
Grande said Regens will begin his career with CCA on December 5 and will manage CCA's existing relationship with the Arizona Department of Corrections. Currently, the state partners with CCA, and the company manages more than 2,100 Arizona offenders in a CCA correctional center in Oklahoma. Separately, CCA owns and operates five correctional centers, and is building a sixth center, all in Pinal County, Arizona. These existing facilities are operated on behalf of various federal and state agencies. Regens will share management responsibility for these government relationships.
"CCA has a strong investment in the State of Arizona. With our sixth correctional center opening in 2008, we will employ more than 2,300 corrections professionals and will continue to be the leading taxpayer in Pinal County and a top-ranked employer in Arizona. Our economic investment in the state is considerable, and our partnership with Arizona for corrections management services is a key priority for the company as well. We are very pleased to have someone with Brad Regens' expertise to aid us in managing our growing presence in the State," said Grande.
