A Salute to CCA Employee Veterans
Our veterans, who comprise about 10% of our 17,000-member workforce, are men and women who have given bravely to protect the freedom of our nation and our world. We owe each of them our heartfelt gratitude for what they and their families personally have endured to keep us each safe.
The fact that they stand with us now -- not only keeping safe the offenders in our care, their fellow employees and our communities, but also standing firmly alongside us as we grow our company with the best, brightest, most dedicated employees -- is a proud example for us all. Our military heroes who are now leaders in our company fall in all ranks throughout our organization. From camouflage to corrections, there are former Marine, Army, Navy, Air Force and National Guard soldiers. They serve as CCA wardens, chiefs, lieutenants, training and business managers, dentists and nurses, chaplains and correctional officers.
On Veteran’s Day Tuesday, November 11, as we drink our coffee, kiss a loved one, read the paper, talk with an inmate, type at our computer, take a jog, or assist a co-worker, perhaps we all can reflect on our brave soldiers throughout this large world and in our own correctional system. We can thank them publicly or privately. But most importantly, let us think of them, and thank them.
Thank you,
Damon T. Hininger
