NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the nation’s largest provider of corrections management services to state, federal and local government, recently announced the appointment of Jerry Lankford as senior director, State Customer Relations for Florida, Georgia and Louisiana.

Based in Nashville, Lankford brings to CCA more than five years of private sector experience, along with four years of service as an infantry officer with the U.S. Army. Following his time in the military, Lankford served for nearly two years as director, Business Development for Avondale Partners, an independent investment banking firm. He also spent three years in business development with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Lankford holds a master's degree in business administration from Vanderbilt University and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

"Jerry's background in the military and business development uniquely qualifies him to serve on our team," said Brad Regens, CCA vice president, State Customer Relations. "His experience complements our customer service approach. It also enables him to successfully cultivate and maintain relationships with community leaders, legislators and stakeholders in states that have a positive, existing partnership with CCA."

In the states where Lankford has assumed customer relations responsibilities, CCA operates a total of 11 correctional facilities. Five of those facilities are located in Florida, including Bay Correctional Facility, Citrus County Detention Facility, Gadsden Correctional Facility, Hernando County Jail and Lake City Correctional Facility. Georgia is home to five other CCA facilities: Coffee Correctional Facility, McRae Correctional Facility, North Georgia Detention Center, Stewart Detention Center and Wheeler Correctional Facility. In Louisiana, CCA operates Winn Correctional Center.

"Jerry exemplifies the types of leadership qualities that will contribute to thriving state customer relations for CCA," said Tony Grande, CCA executive vice president and chief development officer. "As CCA moves ahead, we value the many assets that Jerry brings to the company. We're glad to have him on our team."
