July 5, 2006
Corrections Corporation of America, the nation's largest provider of corrections management services to government agencies, announced today that it has reached an agreement with Stewart County, Georgia to house detainees from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ("ICE") under an Inter-Governmental Service Agreement between Stewart County and ICE. The agreement will enable ICE to accommodate detainees at CCA's 1,524-bed Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.

The agreement between Stewart County and CCA is effective through December 31, 2011, and provides for an indefinite number of renewal options. The Company expects to begin receiving ICE detainees on or about October 1, 2006, and expects that ICE will substantially occupy the Stewart facility sometime during 2007.

"We are grateful to be able to assist ICE by providing a viable solution in its efforts to consolidate and create some efficiencies in managing their detainee populations," said John Ferguson, CCA president and chief executive officer. "We will continue to work with this valued customer in meeting its needs for additional capacity in the future."
